Service Description

Back by popular demand, our pre teen Tea Time Class balances rendering Bargue Drawings, landscape painting and symbolism. We will learn how to draw classical value studies with a plumb line in the classroom working in graphite. Plein air painting by the river using several watercolor techniques. In addition to the two mediums we will explore others through the use of symbolism. Symbolic expression gives voice to experience and nurtures empowerment. Painting in the style of the impressionists, and exploring emotive painting through symbols and colors we learn to use the tools of art therapy. Expressive studies represent some of the challenging, ever changing emotions that will live on paper, not trapped in our hearts. Tea and cookies will be served during our daily art history lessons. Students finish the week by framing one of their pieces and putting together an art exhibit of their work. Parents and friends are welcome to attend the Gallery Show Friday at 2:00.
